MSc Accreditation Assistance Programme

There has never been a more exciting time for students to undertake an MSc in Clinical Exercise Physiology. Registration and regulation of Clinical Exercise Physiologists as a health professional is a step change to allow the development and growth of a workforce to deliver clinical exercise services in the UK.

The Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS) MSc accreditation ensures that students are being equipped with the required knowledge and skills to work in clinical settings as a registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist health care professional.  Accreditation is an opportunity for universities to offer students the highest quality education and training to develop the next generation of Clinical Exercise Physiologists.

The CEP-UK assistance programme works with university programme teams wishing to develop a master’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology and planning to develop their curricula to gain AHCS accreditation.

How does the assistance programme help universities?

The University teams submit for review their MSc programme specification, module overview and timetable of delivery documents alongside a mapping matrix (see example here) to where taught content maps to CEP-UK Curriculum Framework, AHCS Standards of Proficiency and Good Scientific Practice. Paperwork is reviewed and written feedback is provided. A 30-minute virtual conversation between the reviewer and programme leader can be arranged following the written feedback if required.

How much does the programme cost?

The cost of the assistance programme is £1500, and feedback will be provided within 6 weeks of submission of full documents.

Further communication and assistance will be charged at an hourly rate following the outlined process.

N.B. Completing this assistance programme does not guarantee AHCS accreditation
